Apply And Register For Openings In Our 2019-2020 Overnight Respite Program!

Registration for Rising Treetop at Oakhurst’s 2019-2020 overnight respite program opened in August 2019. For the season from late September 2019 to early June 2020, we have a planned Calendar of respites for youth and adults with physical and developmental disabilities.  We also have overnight respite weekends and school break weeks for those with a primary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

We are a barrier-free short-term residential facility and provide individuals with disabilities an opportunity to stay at Rising Treetops at Oakhurst in a fully supportive overnight respite environment outside the home.  The program’s goal is to help strengthen the entire family by giving caregivers timely breaks, and to enrich the quality of life for our clients.  Adults who live alone or in community residences can also attend a respite session, but priority is given to those who live with a family caregiver.

Our respite services are designed primarily for individuals who possess at least minimal levels of expressive and receptive communication skills, and exhibit behavior that is appropriate for group living.  While at Rising Treetops during a respite stay, clients have access to seasonal recreational activities; which can include arts/crafts, music, drama, sports/games, swimming, cooking, iPad media arts and trips off campus.

Some families and/or clients get to and from Oakhurst on their own; others are provided central site transportation upon request from locations in New York City in Rising Treetops lift-equipped vehicles.

You can download/print an application for services for our 2019-2020 respite season in the Registration section of this website, or call 732-531-0215 or email info@risingtreetops.org for one to be mailed to you.  We have rolling registration/confirmations so please submit an application as soon as you can.

You can see a schedule of 2019-2020 respites by visiting our Calendar on this website.

We look forward to serving you, your child or your client/consumer this coming respite season!
