Rising Treetops at Oakhurst provides after-school respite care for children, teens, and adults during weekdays following school and day programs, as well as on select Saturdays throughout the school year.

Our After-School Respite Program supports individuals with autism and physical or intellectual disabilities in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The program is designed to provide families and caregivers with dependable respite care while participants enjoy recreational activities, social interaction, and engaging experiences on our beautiful 15-acre campus in Oakhurst, New Jersey.

This program helps provide peace of mind for working families and caregivers seeking quality after-school and daytime support in a caring community setting.

Respiro Diurno – Programa Después de la Escuela

Rising Treetops at Oakhurst ofrece cuidado de respiro después de la escuela para niños, adolescentes y adultos durante los días de semana, después de las clases y programas diurnos, así como en algunos sábados seleccionados a lo largo del año escolar.

Nuestro Programa de Respiro Después de la Escuela apoya a personas con autismo y discapacidades físicas o intelectuales en un entorno seguro, estructurado y de apoyo. Structured Activities in a Supportive Environment

Trained counselors, under the supervision of a program coordinator, care for our day respite clients, assist with homework if they have any, and engage them in activities, including arts and crafts, music and dance, nature and gardening, and sports and general recreation. All activities, equipment and materials at Rising Treetops are designed and adapted for people with special needs.

Program Schedule and Transportation

Program Hours

The program is open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays September through June, except for federal holidays and during the Christmas/New Year’s break. In the summer when our overnight camp is in session, and on many Saturdays during the non-summer months, the program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Transportation Services

We provide limited (within 10 miles) transportation one way from a school or day program to Rising Treetops during afternoons when school or day programs are in session. This one-way transportation is not available on Saturdays and we do not provide transportation from homes to Rising Treetops; only from schools or day programs.

Eligibility, Registration and
Contact Information

Each applicant’s eligibility for care is evaluated individually to ensure their needs can be met in our Day Respite Program. An Application for Service and intake interview must be completed prior to being considered for the program. Fees are charged on a per-hour basis, and vary depending on whether 1:1 care is needed. All care must be scheduled in advance; this is not a drop-in service. To register for the day respite program on a Saturday, we require the request to be at least one week in advance.
