Rising Treetops at Oakhurst’s 2018-2019 Respite Program is seeking Volunteer Activity Counselors. Volunteer Activity Counselors gain valuable hands-on work experience by helping to plan, organize and help facilitate therapeutic recreational activities for our clients with special needs. These activities include: arts/crafts, music, drama, media arts (iPad-based), swimming, cooking, nature studies, sports and theme day activities….
Carrie, a 50 year old woman with cerebral palsy and intellectual disability, began coming to Rising Treetops at Oakhurst for respite care this spring. Carrie’s mother passed away four years ago and Carrie’s sister Erin has needed support after she took over as her guardian and caregiver while raising her own daughter and teaching full-time….
Summer camp registration is open! This summer, beginning on June 15, we have one session for adults (ages 26+), a session for young adults (ages 23-35) and two sessions for youth (up to age 25) with general developmental disabilities, as well as four sessions for youth and young adults (all ages considered) diagnosed with autism….
