After School (Day Respite) Care Program Has Openings!
Rising Treetops cares for school-age children with special needs after school and on days schools are closed.
We are still accepting applications for the 2017-2018 school year! Our day respite care program serves children with special needs, including autism and physical and intellectual disabilities, in order to provide services for families who are often unable to find appropriate care for their school-age children while they are at work.
The service is open not only after school from 2:00-6:00 p.m., but also on school closure days (except for federal holidays), including winter and spring breaks, and in the summer as part of our day camp program. There is limited (within approx. 10 miles) transportation one way from the child’s school to Rising Treetops during afternoons when school is in session.
Trained counselors, under the supervision of a program director and therapeutic recreation specialist, care for the children, assist them with homework and engage them in activities, including arts and crafts, music and dance, and of course sports and general recreation. All activities, equipment and materials at Rising Treetops are designed and adapted for people with disabilities.
If you are interested in learning more or know of a family in need of this service, please reply to this email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 732.531.0215. Each child’s eligibility for care is evaluated individually to ensure their needs can be met in the program. A minimum of 9 hours a week is required per child and fees are charged on a per-hour basis and vary depending on whether 1:1 care is needed. All care must be scheduled in advance; this is not a drop-in service.
We look forward to hearing from you!
